Cllr Jack Brereton Named as Conservative PPC for Stoke Central

I can confirm that Jack Brereton the city councillor for the Milton Baddeley and Norton ward has tonight been selected to be the Conservative Prospective Parliamentary Candidate in the upcoming by-election in Stoke-on-Trent Central.

Jack is also Deputy Leader of the Stoke-on-Trent Conservative Group and is also the current cabinet member for Regeneration, Transport & Heritage.

Jack was also the youngest ever Stoke-on-Trent City Councillor when he was elected back in 2011. He is considered to be one of the rising stars of the Conservative Party.

Jack also lives in the ward he represents.

The Conservatives were narrowly beaten into third place in 2015 by UKIP. There were just 33 votes between the two right of centre parties.

The Labour Party are defending a majority of just over 5000.

The by-election takes place on 23rd February.

The candidates confirmed so far are:

Paul Nuttall (UKIP)

Godfrey Davies (Christian Peoples Alliance)

Dr Zulfiqar Ali (Liberal Democrats)

  1. The Tories must be scraping the bottom of the barrel if “Mr. Personality Bypass” Jack Brereton is the best they can do. Shows that they don’t expect to win.
